Alpha

Great food… New friends… Honest discussions about life.

If this sounds good to you, come learn more at the Alpha Celebration Dinner on February 1st at 6 p.m. You'll learn more about Alpha and can then decide if you'd like to participate in the next Alpha Course, beginning Monday, February15th, at 6 p.m.  Alpha is a 10-week course covering the basics of what it means to be a Christian.  A typical Alpha evening involves enjoying a great dinner with new friends, hearing a presentation on a common question about Christianity, then a chance to discuss the topic in a small group where no question is considered “dumb”.  The course is designed for those who are new believers or non-Christians who are simply curious about the faith, although long-time Christians have also enjoyed it as well. Here’s what our previous participants have had to say about Alpha:

“My heart has been opened to believing.”

 “I found God in a way I hadn’t before - a loving Father I didn’t realize I have had all my life.”

This Alpha Course will be a joint project of First United Methodist, Trinity Anglican, and First Presbyterian. We will meet upstairs at The Bookshelf (downtown). A nursery is also available for children under 5.

If you have a friend or co-worker who is not involved in church or is seeking answers in life, this would be a great opportunity to point them in a positive direction. Please offer to sign them up or attend with them. Those who are interested in participating can sign up by calling the office at 226-0840. The course is free but space is limited. Deadline to sign up for the Celebration Dinner is January 28th. The deadline to sign up for the actual Alpha Course is February 4th.

For more information on Alpha or to sign up, contact the church office or email Chris.
