Missions Values
The following values guide our decisions about who we partner with in missions and how we will focus our resources for the greatest impact:
Explicitly Christian: This ministry clearly gives credit to God and/or points people towards a relationship with Jesus.
Relationship factor: This ministry fosters personal relationship between the people of TFUMC and those being served. Volunteers are utilized as opposed to simply requiring finances.
Pioneering: This ministry is meeting otherwise unmet needs, not duplicating what others are doing.
Reaching the unreached: This ministry reaches out to those who’ve never heard the gospel or those who’ve heard but are un-churched.
Transformation: This ministry can demonstrate that lives are being transformed -- the highest goal being formation of reproducing disciples.
Impact potential: This ministry has a far-reaching impact -- beyond the neighborhood, maybe across the city, or even around the world.
Partnership: This ministry maintains a good relationship with TFUMC; communication is clear and frequent; there is mutual support and encouragement?
Financial: This ministry practices transparency in its finances and demonstrates good stewardship of the resources directed its way. It also has a significant financial need.
Empowering: This ministry encourages sustainability and self-sufficiency, as opposed to creating unhealthy dependence and putting band-aids‖ on serious problems.
Raising up leaders: This ministry raises up and develops local leaders to continue the ministry.
