The Event - Youth Auction - Wednesday, April 27, 2011
This is a fund raising event to benefit the student ministries of TFUMC, and in particular the sr. high mission team going to Costa Rica this summer. By participating in this auction you are not only ministering to the poor in Costa Rica, you are investing in the lives of local students who are pursing God's will for their lives.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
The cost of this trip is approximately $1600.00 per person. Many students participating cannot afford to cover all of the cost. We are asking God to use His resources to make this trip available to all who are called to go on this trip. Some of God's resources are in your pocket!
WHY COSTA RICA?
We rotate our mission trips each year (rural, urban, and foreign). We do this for two reasons: 1-To expose our students to a wide understanding of what poverty looks like, 2-To take our students out of their comfort zones where they have to be dependent on the Lord.
Costa Rica is a beautiful place, a stabil country, and receives a lot of tourist traffic. However, this success has a draw back, as people from all over Central America seek refuge (and a paycheck) in Costa Rica. The result is a dark underbelly of extreme poverty seen in shanty towns outside of some of Costa Rica's bigger cities. We will be ministering to these people.

6:30pm - Live Auction begins
* Tickets - $10 Adults, $5 Children under 12
Tickets can be purchased at the church office or at one of our services
