UMW/UMCOR Health and School Kits
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is asking for Health and School kits. UMCOR responds to needs around the world, especially those resulting from disasters, both natural and man-made. Prepare whichever kit you prefer and follow instructions carefully. Each kit should contain the following items and those items only.
HEALTH KITS - Value: $12 per kit
1 hand towel (15”X25” up to 17”X27”) NO kitchen towels
1 wash cloth
1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket- sized)
1 nail file or fingernail clipper (no emery boards or
toenail clippers)
1 bath size bar of soap (3oz. and up)
1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper,
NO child-size brushes)
6 adhesive plastic strip bandages (like Band-aids)
Include all items, and do not add anything, please. Wrap the brand new items in the new hand towel, and place inside a one gallon plastic bag with a zipper closure. Do not add toothpaste. UMCOR is now buying toothpaste in bulk because of expiration dates.
SCHOOL KITS - Value $11 per kit
1 blunt scissors (rounded tip)
3 pads (or loose leaf) of 81/2 X 11” ruled paper
1 30-centimeter ruler
1 hand held pencil sharpener
6 unsharpened pencils with erasers
1 eraser (2 ½”)
1 box of 24 crayons (only 24)
These items need to be placed in a 14" X 16" bag with handles and a closure. (Gwen Becknell and Carolyn Butler were kind enough to make some bags). They are in the church office if you would like one. You may bring the kits to the church office until July 10.
Please send $1 for each School Kit and $2 for each Health Kit ($1 for toothpaste and $1 for shipping). This is to help UMCOR with the costs of processing and shipping kits around the world. (If you would like to send a check, make it out to "UMCOR Sager Brown") DO NOT put money or checks in kits - there is an envelope in the office for this.
Thank you for your donation. You are helping to make a difference in people’s lives.
